Tho Foresters' Theatre, Onehungn, presented ;i see no of groat activity when the Gordon Tent, T.0.R., entertained the teams entering for the Pascoe tndoor Bowling Cup. Ten teams competed and three complete rounds were played, tho draw being in the hands of, the district howling secretary, Bro. G. Day. The 'games were all keenly_ contested and no team succeeded in winning nil of the matches. Eden, last year's champions. Gordon, R emu em and New Lvnu Tents each had two wins and ono loss; Auckland, Eden B and Mount Albert had,a.win, a loss and a draw each; Waiteniata and Devonport, one win and two losses; and Otalmhu, two losses and one draw. The results of tlio first evening's plav show that the cup this year will nob bo won very easily, and some stirring contests arc anticipated. During an interval supper was served by the Gordon Tent, sisters and members," under the direction ot'_ Sisters Campling and Genian. On behalf of the Gordon Tent, the president of_ the 3'echabites' Indoor Bowling Association, Bro. Jenkins, presented to Bro. It. Campling the Caddy trophy, consisting of a handsome cake stand and dishes. Bro. A. Caddy received the second prize. Bro. Campling also received a miniatuio silver cup for" being runner-up in the district handicap singles. The officers and members 01" Court Edith CaveU, A.0.F.. - aro very grateful to the a'ndnvinous donor of the regalia presented to' the chief ranger ot their court. . The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Tapatoetoo Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0.1'., was j, e\d in the Renown Hall. An initiation ceremony took place, another sister joining the order. Every meeting now has a strong representation of lady members, < routing & good socinl atmosphere, luc first nomination of officers took place and a good deal of interest was manifest. Quito 11, number vi members were proposed to till the offices. Sister Leach, the N.G., has conducted the meetings very efficiently, and although no sister members are -ready vet. to fill the senior positions it is hoped that they wiil have a good representation in the junior-offices. The library, in the capable hands of tlio librarian,_ Sifter R. V. (Jlosey, commenced its activities and a number of mcmburs availed themselves of the opportunity of selecting from the variety of books. Sister Q. Simpson, a prominent worker in the lodge, is now convalescing after several weeks in hospital. It will be some time before sho will be able to resume office.

One of tho largest gatherings in lodge circles in tho Franklin district look place last week at Waiuku. when tlie Star of AVaiukn Lodge, 1.0.0. F., held its installation ceremony, \iaitors from a number of other lodges were present ami tho attendance was good. The installing officer for tho evening was the district deputy grand master, Bro. X. INI. Barriball, who, assisted by a competent suite of officers, carried out the ceremony in a most accomplished manner. The officers installed were as follows: —J.P.Gr., Bro. G. Dickson ; N.U., Bro:;. L. Blackler; V.G., Bro. W. lii'ttimore; receiving secretary, Bro. G. Otto; financial secretary, Bro. J. McConnell: treasurer, Bro. L. li. Robinson, .P.G. ; warden, Bro. C. It. Barriball, P.G-.; conductor, Bro. 0. Clothier: chaplain, Bro. J. Fraser, P. 0.; 1.G.. I>ro. F. Graves, P.G.; 0.G., Bro. IT, Wells. The retiring TKist grand thanked the officers and members for their assistance and loyaltv_ during his term of office. It was mentioned that this brother has not missed a meeting for 11 years, and has been in sorno office or,other all the time. At the conclusion of the cremonv refreshments were served and the remainder of tho evening was spent very pleasantly with music, bowls and cards.
