KNOWING THE PEOPLE.
GOVERNOR-GENERAL'S DESIRE
A desire to meet personally as many people of the Dominion as possible has been expressed by the Governor-General, Lord Dlodisloe, and as a result Their Excellencies have decided to hold a garden party at Government House on Saturday, May 24, for members of the staffs of city
business and commercial houses. Invitations have been sent to a largo number of firms and personal invitations will lie sent later. It. is suggested that, especially in the case of larger establishments, as many married people as possible should attend, so that both husband and wife may bo present. The party will bo quite informal and if any of those who accept invitations find it inconvenient to go home to change, His Excellency has expressed the hope that they will come just the same. Owing to the limited accommodation at Government House, it lias been impossible to send invitations to all firms, but another similar function will be held later.
