ILLEGAL DISTILLATION.
FARMER FINED £2OO. CASE IN ISOLATED DISTRICT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] INVEKCARGILL, Friday. In the Police Court to-day, Duncan Mackenzie Boyd, owner of an isolated farm in the Lake District, was fined £2OO by Mr. E. C. Levvy, S.M., for aiding in the distillation of spirits. • Counsel appealed for leniency, as accused's circumstances were not good, and as ho had a wife and five children. Tho magistrate leinarked that the practice had to bo stamped out. Defendant was allowed two months to find the money.
