ASSAULT CASE PROVED.
TWO MEN FOUND GUILTY. VICTIM A HALF-DRUNKEN MAN. [BY TELECR.U'H. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.} WELLINGTON, Friday. Allegations that they had robbed a halfdrunken man, who had come to town with a. few pounds in his pockets, were made against James Burman, labourer, arid Walter Eraser Sheriffs Ifarneiss, engineer, iu tho Supreme Court to-day. Accused, who pleaded not guilty, wore jointly charged with robbing with violence, assault with intent to rob and assault. Aftor a retirement of 30 minutes, the i jury returned a verdict of guilty on tho I i second count and not guilty on tho first and third counts, j The prisoners were remanded for senfence.
