EFFECT IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, May 9. Tho slump in tho price of tin in London will bo u severe, blow to a section of Australian investors. Many Eastern tin drod ,r ing companies arc controlled in Australia. The fall on Tuesday to £142 lis 9d it ton brought the price very close to the lowest Btnco tho war, while since the beginning of this year the price has fallen by nearly £36. Tine, years ago the London quotation was £3CO a ton. As a result of the depressed prices tin stocks on tho Stock Exchange were neglected. Tho market yesterday, howuver, showed a recovery of £2 18s 9d for spot supplies.
