STATE'S MOTOR-CARS.
Sir,—The statement bf the Minister of Labour of purchases of motor vehicles by Government departments is very interest, ing and it is gratifying to know that tbs position regarding the Whippet cars 13 so satisfactory. On going through the lists, however, one is inclined to wonder if Die position as n whole is so good. Of the vehicles, excluding bus chassis, purchased during the year, 131 of a total of 299 aro makes in which either Sir Joseph Ward or Mr. Vincent Ward is directly interested. The list is suspiciously silent regarding the makqs-of tho 26 bus-chassis supplied to the Railway Department, Would I lie in error in stating that a large proportion of these came from th§ same building as the Whippets ? Angus Macthebsoh, Beach Street, Wellington.
