She is Mrs. Lily Had field, an English girl, who on a recent visit to America, married an American, Mr. Samuel Hadfield. Unsentimental immigration officials insisted that the law should lie carried out to the letter, and that at the expiration of her six months' permit Mrs. Hadfield would have to return to England. She had then only been married a few weeks. The bride was forced to sail without her husband, and lake her chance of coming back for a permanent stay.
