HOWICK TOWN BOARD.
WATER SUPPLY SCHEME.
The Howick Town Board met on Thursday evening, Mr. John Crawford presiding. A letter was received from Mr. A. W. Hal), M.P., stating that in reference to the' board's application for a postal delivery, the, acting chief-postmaster (Mr. •T. J. Kearney), had the suggestion under consideration, particularly as it related to the inner area. The engineer was instructed to arrange for plans for a building on the board's section suitable for holding the necessary plant and fittings in connection with the water supply scheme. The building is to include office accommodation- Three tenders were received for water fittings and specials. The lowest, that of Dutliie, Bridson and Company, was accepted, the price being £271 7s 9d. Seventeen applications for the position of clerk of works in connection with the several / contracts pending were received by a majority of the board, three fc iSStSS"" Hi6hm:
