PRESENTATIONS.
A presentation was mado on WedneSt day evening to the Eev. K. T. Olds, ot the Mounli Eden Methodist Cburch, whei is resigning his chargo iu order to tak'aj up the position of superintendent of tli€> Methodist Central Mission. At tlio fara< well social addresses were made by various officials of the church and members of thei congregation, expressing regret, at Mr* Olds' departure, and wishing him success in his new duties. Mr. T. H. Martynj presented Mr. Olds _wif.li a cheque on bo* half of the congregation. Mr. D. L. Thomas, chairman of th« Gladstone School Committee, who is retiring after 13 years cf office, was yesterday presented with a leather bag by, the pupils and stiiff of the school. Farewell addresses on behalf of the pupils were given by Betty Atkinson and Elriou Bennett.
A farewell social was tendered on Wcdn nesday evening to the Rev. J. F. of the Devonport Methodist Church, whq is leaving; for Papakura. Ministers of tlio other Dovonport churches were present and sipoko appreciatively of the per* vices rendered by l\lr. Martin, and referred to tho excellent spirit of co-opei'uLiotl which ho had brought into his relation* with other ministers. Addresses were delivered by Messrs. .Toynt, Tinker and Roberts, as representatives of the V auxhall, Stanley Bay and Devonport congregations respectively. Sir. Roberts, on behalf of the gathering, presented Mi* Martin with a cheque. The St. John's schoolroom was crowded on Thursday evening for tho farewell social to tho Rev. A. Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell and the Rev. Laisen. Several speakers referred to tho splendid work accomplished in the Auckland West Methodist Circuit during their term and expressed tho hope thats Mr. Mitchell's health would bo speedily restored. A presentation of books froni Richmond Avenue and a travelling rug from Franklin Road was made to Mr. Larsen. A chequo from St. John's congregation was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell also received two bouquets from tlie Gicat North Road Ladies' Guild and St. John's*. Sir* George Richardson 1 ;, tribute to Mr. Mitchell':- work among the soldiers was received with prolonged applause.
