CLAIM BY HOUSEKEEPER.
COMPENSATION GRANTED.
INJURIES FOLLOW ACCIDENT.

In the Arbitration Court this morning, an application for compensation for injury was made by Alice Maud BirchIcy against tho ostato of the late Samuel McG'aflin, sheopfnrmer, of Mangatahi. Applicant was formerly employed as housekeeper by Mr. McGafiin. Tho applicant claimed that she was injured in the courso of her employment on October 1, 1928, and suffered a fracture of the log. At the time, alio was receiving a weekly wage of £1 a week. She found us a result of the injury that she was totally incapacitated until May 13, 1929. She returned to her employment the next day, and continued until September 18, when she was unable to continue her work and was forced to leave her employment. She had been unahlo to undertake work other than that of an extremely light nature, as she was permanently lame. ller lalo employer had told her that everything would bo all right so far as compensation was concerned. , .. •
After bearing evidence, tho Court awarded £127, and costs £l2 12s.
