YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN SOUTH.
Auckland.—Fine weather yesterday morning was followed early in the afternoon by a few light showers. There was a fresli br.eezie throughout the day, but toward evening the wind dropped and the sky was fairly clear. The barometer was steady at 29.95 in. Christchurch. —'The weather yesterday was warmer than during the preceding days, the maximum temperature being 66 degrees. The wind was light from southwest in the morning, but changed to east-north-east in the afternoon. The barometer remained steady at 29.50 in.
Dunedin. —The weather was unsettled in Dunedin yesterday, dull and threatening, with rain and a fresh wind from the south-west. The sun brok» through the clouds on several occasions, but the periods of sunshine were very brief. The maximum temperature «a» 58 degrees. The barometer fell during the day, but was steady at 29.40 in tlw evening. „
