RAILWAY POLICY DISCUSSES*
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN" COnRESrONPTTKT.] PAPAKURA, Thursday. The Papakura Chamber of Commen.a met last evening, the president, Mr. 11. E. McEntee, presiding. It was decided to communicate with Iho Railways 'Department, asking that (lie ordinary express from Wellington !.o Auckland should stop at I'apakura if necessary. A resolution was passed urgirg a revision of the present Power Board charges for lighting. . , Dr. A. H. Jameson, representing Panatoetoe. Chamber of Commerce, wailed on the chamber with the. object of securing its support in an effort to bring pressure (o bear on the Government to run workers' trains, morning and evening, to a point much nearer the citv than new railway station. The chamber c . pressed its'desire to support the movement, ,nd Mr. H. £<. Thornton wasnppointed a delegate to a meeting to b* held on Monday at Papatoetoe. • The. secretary reported Uiat the ana u- 1 - mfln ts for the coming conference of th* Franklin Chambers of Commerce were well , in hand.
