THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
WELCOME AT QUNEDIN. [by telegraph.—press association.] DUNEDIX. Thursday. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe arrived at Dunedin this afternoon from Christchurch. They were accorded a civic reception in the evening, when tho concert chamber of the Town Hall was crowded. The Mayor, Air. R. S. Black, read an address of welcome, and His Excellency, in reply, assured the audience that he and Lady Bledisloe Would do all that lav in their power to understand the desires and needs of the people. The reception accorded Their Excellencies was of the heartiest possible nature.
