WATERFRONT POLICE.
TRANSFER OF DETECTIVE. WHARF PROTECTION UNALTERED. With the arrival of the new sub-inspec-tor in charge of the detective branch of the Auckland police, Detective-Sergeant A. McHugh has been transferred from the Queen's Wharf station to the central office. The change has been made to bring him under the jurisdiction of the sub-in-spector in common with all other members of the detective force in Auckland. Formerly he was under the control of the uniform brunch.
The change does not. alter the present system of protecting the waterfront, which will be covered as formerly. Mr. McHugh's work for the most part will be the same.
