gift to grammar school. With £IOOO in sight for the proposed Auckland Boys' Grammar School Memorial Library building, the executive of the Old Boys' Association is inviting all old boys to contribute to tho fund. The library wasr first suggested in August at the time of the jubilee celebrations, and 0110 member of tho association opened the fund with a donation of £250. Since then many generous gifts havo been made, and as it is hoped to secure a pound for pound subsidy from tho Government, the £2500 required for the building is nearly subscribed. Tho executive has felt, however, that in order to increase the number of thoso directly interested in the project all old boys should be invited to contribute small sums, from 2s 6d upwards. Previously only men who had left the school for over 25 years have been approached.
