MOTOR-CYCLE STRIKES COW
rider seriously injured. MACHINE MUCH DAMAGED. [BY TELEGRAFH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Friday. While Mr. Stewart Roberts, a farm worker, was riding a motor-cycle last evening, he collided with a cow which came suddenly from the side of the road. Mr. Roberts was unable to avoid a collision and was thrown, and suffered concussion, cuts and bruises. He was taken to the Opotiki Hospital. The cycle was damaged extensively and the cow was so severely injured that it had to be destroyed. Mr. Roberts has raced prominently at the Opotiki motor-cycle sports, and would have left for Auckland this morning to race at Takapuna.
