GREATEST GLOBE-TROTTER.
It is stated that Sir. Van Lear Black, millionaire chairman of the. board o{ directors of the Baltimore Sun, intends to mako a trip to the Southern Hemisphere in his tri-motor Fokker monoplane, which is powered with Wright J. 6 engines. Mr. Black left London recently, and, alter arriving in Spain, proceeded to Northern .Africa, from where he subsequently left to fly to Arabia, India, Indo-China, China and thence to Tokio. If conditions ate favourable when he reaches Tokit) lie proposes to fly to Australia and New Zealand. It will be recalled that a few years ago Mr Van Lear Black made a flight from Amsterdam to the Dutch East Indies and back, a distance of some 20,000 miles. Last year he made a flight from Paris to Capetown, another journey of approximately 20.000 miles. Apart from these, this flying newspaper man has made numerous jaunts of from 2000 to 5000 miles on the Continent, and in North America. Consequently he has become known as the world's greatest aerial globetrotter.
