STATUE TO POETRY.
Is there any European city other than London that has a statue to tho Muse ot Poetry? asks a Daily Chronicle writer. For \vc have one, although many seasoned townspeople may be puzzled to know where it is The statue stands in Park Lane, and many people ask who it is supposed to commemorate. It is, in fact-, a memorial to the Muse of Poetry, and the figures represented are Chaucer, Shakespeare, and Milton, crowned by Fame and su ported by Tragedy, Comedy, and Poetry herself.
