The tentative route of the vessels provides for calls at Tahiti and Panama. Between them tho vessels will ship 700 tons of coal. The following message has been received by Commander Hotham, of H.M.S. Laburnum, from Rear-Admiral Byrd to be forwarded to Commodore Blake, commanding New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy:—"On behalf of the members of our Antarctic Expedition, as well as myself, I want to tell you how deeply I appreciate your kind message of welcome conveyed to me through Commander Hotham and the unusual courtesy Commander Hotham has extended to us.
