PRESBYTERIAN RUMOURS.
MR. HERRON'S POSITION. NO APPOINTMENT MADE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DUNEDIN, Friday. It was reported from Auckland to-day that Rev. D. C. Herron, of St. David's Church, Auckland, had been appointed to the ministry of First Church, Dunedin. Inquiries mado locally show that the information is quite incorrect and that there is no movement on the part of the people of First Church to extend a call to Mr. Herron. It is . understood, however, that negotiations' are being made bv the selection committeo of Knox Church pulpit, which is also vacant, with a view to ascertaining whether he is likely to "consider tho appointment to that charge.
