ELECTION IN JAPAN.
LARGE NUMBERS VOTE.
ISSUE STILL. IN DOUBT'. TOKIO. Feb. 20. The first election returns will be in tomorrow. The laws of Japan forbid their publication on the day of voting. Encouraged by fine weather ft larger percentage of the electors polled than in previous years. It is generally conceded that the Government. Party will have a majority, but an absolute majority is doubtful. Meanwhile, the proletarians are most hopeful that nn opportunity has arrived when their party can command the decisive position on which the Government is dependent to carry on. It is estimated that 80 per cent, of the electorate in Tokio and 72 per cent, in Osaka polled.
