TAURANGA TOURNAMENT.
MATAMATA DEFEATS WEST END. [BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN COMIESEONDENT. j TAUBANGA, Friday. The Tauranga bowling tournament was concluded this afternoon, when Simpson, Were, Crabbe, Livingstone (Matamata), winners of section one, met Wernham, Raynes, Knaggs, Adeane (West End), winners of section two, in the final. The sreen was somewhat heavy and a sharp shower half-way through the game made it still slower.
The West End team did not play nearly as good a game as against Norrie Beil (Hamilton) in the section tie, and Matamata won comfortably by 26 points to 9 on the 19th head.
The presentation of prizes concluded a most successful tournament.

The final of the Claudelands Bowling Club's championship was decided to-dav, the winner being J. Paterson. Ihe winner on the four previous occasions was W. Carter. Following are the results of the final stages.-—Paterson and A. J. Prescou tied/ 16 aIL In the play-oS Paterson won, 5—5. A. G. Robb beat W. Carter. 20—12. W. A. Carte.is beat Ro'bb, 20—12; Paterson beat Curteis, 21— 12 at tho 19th head.
