COROMANDEL COUNTY.
DECISIONS BY COUNCILS The Coromandei County Council met this week. Mr. SL James presided. Replying to the council's protest against the reported intention cf liberating onas>stims in the county, the Department- of Internal Affairs stated that no authorities for the further liberation of these animals were being granted. The animals arei the subject of scientific investigations. An unexpended balance of £45 on the 1928-29 estimates for improving the road between Kennedy Bay and Tuateawa,. hais been reinstated, and authority for J® expenditure issued to the council. The council declined to do any extra work on the Corornandei-Whitianca main highway unless the Main Highways Board increased its subsidy to £3 for" £L
Tenders for ten metalling contracts in various ridings of the county amounting to £5456 6s were accepted. The county Mr,. Stewart, reported that he was preparing to complete tha metalling between the Maiuia Hill and Coromandel Post Office.
