HOWICK AFFAIRS.
' TOWN BOARD MEETING.
.The Howick Town Board met on Thursday evening, the chairman, Mr. John Crawford, presiding.
It was agreed to accept the arrangements made by the Post and Telegraph Department for the transfer to the board c£ a small piece of land in front of the
post office. Mr. J. C. Litten reported that a satisfactory agreement had been arranged with Mr. C. Paton, owner ot land which the board intended to use to carry the water mam to the township from Pigeon
Mountain. A deputation from the Oddfellows' intimated that, the lodge had appointed a medical attendant, and that lie intended residing in the district. Mr. ,E. F. Newton, on behalf of the lodge, thanked the board for its assistance, and particularly the clerk who had given yaluabie help in the matter.
