RAZORBACK ASSAULT.
ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT
REMAND UNTIL WEDNESDAY
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Friday.
A charge of assault with intent to commit rapo was preferred in tho Pukekoho Polico Court to-day against Sydney John Vernon, aged 18 years, who was arrested by tho police at Razorback, Bombay, yesterday in connection with tho attack on a high school girl there the previous afternoon.
On (ho application of Sergent Cowan, tho presiding justice, Sir. C. K. Lawrio, granted a remand until Wednesday next, when tho regular fortnightly sitting of tho Court, boforo tho stipendiary magistrate, takes place. Sergeant Cowan mentioned that accused had been under the control of tho Child Welfaro Department for somo years.
