! THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. ■ !. A SIN CLE TRANSACTION. Only two calls took place yesterday oil the Auckland Stock Exchange, which closed at one o'clock on account of the cricket test. Only one sale, in hanks, was recorded. In Government investments offers for 1933, 5A per cent. War Loan and Inscribed Stock advanced, bat there was no response from sellers. With the exception of an easing in Commercials of Australia and Nationals of New Zealands there was little change in banks. The only business was done in the D pref. issue of New Zealands, which changed hands 6d easier at 26s 3d. Offers for Commercials of Australia receded 2d to 22s 7d, while buying limits for Nationals of New Zealand relapsed from £5 19s to £5 17s 6d. New Zealands were wanted a shade firmer at 57s 9d. Other sections of the market were qniet and, in some cases, slightly weaker. In breweries offers for New Zealands were reinstated on the lower basis of 82s 6d. In miscellaneous both British Tobaccos and Colonial Sugars were a fraction easier. Kempthorne-Prossers, which were avadable at the unaltered price of 735, attracted a buyer at 71s 6d without business resulting. There was a higher bid for Wilsons Cement, offers advancing from 38s 3d to 38s lOd. Sellers' closing quotation was 39s 3d.

Offers for most of tiie mining investments were reinstated at practically the same levels. Moanataiaris were slightly firmer; the fully paid issue, for which sellers asked 2s 4d, being in demand afc Is 9d. Mount Lyells were weaker, offers declining from 54s 3d to 55s 9d,
