NEW HEBRIDES.
NEGOTIATOR DISAPPOINTED.
OFFER TO AUSTRALIA.
LONDON, Feb. 19. The negotiator for the sale of French interests in the New Hebrides says he is disappointed at the unbusinesslike handling of his offer to Australia. The High Commissioner, Sir Granville Ryrie, had pleaded that the condition of
Australia's finances necessitated the most careful inquiry, whereas, the negotiator said, he had been in possession of every relevant fact for more than a month and apparently had not moved. The negotiator has now gone to Paris. He says he has not promised to discontinue the discussion with the Japanese who are anxious to obtain a footing in the New Hebrides.
