One of these came in with the short-wave reception, and tlio other arrived with reception of SYA, Christchurch. The programme comprised vocal and instrumental numbers by performers of marked ability. The American announcer advertised (ho great Chicago Fair to be held in 1933. The rebroadcasts of the American programmes are much appreciated by hundreds or even thousands of New Zealand listeners, who are unable to pick up tho American broadcasts direct. Tlio Chicago station broadcast some attractive information about ISew Zealand. Tlio music heard from Chicago on short-wave is also broadcast by WENR, Chicago, 50.000 watts, on a wave-length of 870 kilocycles (352.7 metres). The slogan of WENR is "The Voice of Service." The. wave-length is exactly the same as that of 3LO, Melbourne."
