WANGANUI, Tuesday.
That' the use of "one-man" cars was the only way an which to meet the deficiency in the city's tramway revenue was the opinion expressed by Mr. A. E. Halligan, chairman of the Tramways Committee, at a meeting of the Wanganui City Council • this evening when tho purchase of further trams from Takapuna was under discussion. It was decided to purchase iour cars at £75 each. It was stated that the council had commenced the financial year with a deficit of £3500. This deficit had increased, but tho council had not had the complete benefit of the summer traffic.
