CHARGE OF MURDER.
THE TIMARU CASE. HEARING EXPECTED TO-DAY. [RY TELEGRAFH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] TIMARU, Tuesday. The Supreme Court session opened today before Mr. Justice Adams. Addressing tho grand jury in reference to the charge against Jack Oldfield, of having murdered his wife, His Honor said it appeared that accused was at the war, where he was wounded on the head and leg. After referring to domestic matters during tho interval between his return from tho war and the alleged commission of tho crime, His Honor made reference to the murder, relating tho evidence given at the preliminary trial, and said that the grand jury should have no difficulty in dealing with tho case. The jury returned a true bill after a short retirement. It is understood that the Oldfield case will be heard tomorrow.
