NO SCHOOL CONVEYANCE.
CHILDREN NEAR TE PUKE.
BOARD DECLINES TENDERS*
[by TELEGRAPH. —OWN conn ESPONDENT. ] TE PUKE, Tuesday.
The residents of the Quarry and No. 3 Road districts, Te Puke, are faced with the prospect of there being no conveyance to bring their children to the Te Puke School unless further assistance is given by the Education Board and the School Committee, or unless the parents are prepared themselves to pay. Early in December the school committee obtained tenders for conveyance and these were forwarded to the Education Board. However, advice was received three days prior to the reopening of the school that the tenders were declined. Thus, the children in these outlying districts are forced to ride horses or walk to school.
