AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.
NEW MODERATOR CHOSEN-
The Auckland Presbytery met yesterday afternoon, the moderator, the Rev. w" I). Morrison Sutherland, presiding. The clerk, the Rev. IX, D. Scott, announced that t;hc term of office of the present moderator had expired and it would be necessary to appoint a successor. Tho next on the" list was the Rev. A. MaeDonald, but he was unable, for health reasons, to accept the office. 7' lo Rev. F. A. Thompson was then appointed moderator for the ensuing six months. The liev. T. Halliday, superintendent of orphanages, reported that tho overdraft of the committee which has the oversight of ithe orphans' homes, had been considerably reduced through the generosity of several donors. The Rev. Professor Hewitson, of(Dunedin, moderator of the Assembly, addressed the Presbytery.
