PLUNGE OF THIRTY FEET.
CAR AND SIX OCCUPANTS.
GIRL SEVERELY INJURED.

A motor-car driven by Mr. J. J. Mansfield, of Palmerston North, and c.ontaining his wife, their three children and a niece, plunged 30ft. over a bank on the Pukeroa Sanatorium Hill yesterday afternoon. The party was proceeding from Palmerston North to Napier. Mrs. Mansfield was thrown through the windscreen and sustained extensive cuts, abrasions and shock.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mansfield was badly crushed about the chest and body and was admitted to the Waipukurau Hospital in a serious condition. The other occupants of the car are suffering from bruises and shock.
Mr. Mansfield resides at Wilson's Line, Palmerston North. By occupation he is a wool sliper.
