INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
COLLISION ON BRIDGE. COURT IMPOSES £5 FINE. A chargo of being intoxicated whilo in charge of a motor-car was admitted by lloraco Augustus Yockney, aged 25 years, who appeared in tho Otalnihu Police Court yesterday. Accused's car collided with another car on tho Tamaki Bridge on Sunday afternoon and then struck and considerably damaged tho parapet of tho bridge.
In entering a plea of guilty, Mr. A. Moody said accused had had two or three drinks but the shock of the collision had affected him further by tho timo the inspector arrived. The traffic inspector said accused was proceeding toward Auckland. On the bridge he collided with a car going in tho opposite direction and crashed into tho stono parapet of tho bridge. He was intoxicated and ho also could not produce a driver's licence.
Accused was fined £5. Tho magistrate Mr. W. IT. Woodward, refused an application for tho suppression of his name.
