APPEAL BOARD SITTINGS.
BUSINESS IN AUCKLAND.
CASE OF DISMISSED OFFICERS. The Post and Telegraph Appeal Board will open its Auckland sittings to-day. A preliminary sitting was held yesterday to arrange the business and a start will bo mado to-day with a number of varied cases. The case of the six Auckland telegraph officers who were recently dismissed from the service after a departmental inquiry into charges connected with betting will probably come up for hearing next week. The members of the board are Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., chairman, Mr. H. P. Donald, chief postmaster at Auckland, departmental representative, Mr. E. It. Blewitt, representing tho postal officers, and Mr. J. D. Burns, representing tho telegraph officers. Mr. E. A. Munden is secretary, and Mr. J. P. P. Clouston and Mr. L. L. Hill appear for the department.
