WORK ON SUB-STATIONS.
TWO CONTRACTS LET BY BOARD.
Contracts jvcro let by tho Auckland Power Board yesterday for tho construction of a new cub-station at Tho Drive, Epsom, and for extensions to tho Kingsland sub-station. The work is necessary in connection with the new feeder-lino being constructed from Kingsland to Point Chevalier to supply electric power for the tramways extension.
Tho tender of Mr. A. G. Grinter, of Papatoetoe, at £2900, was accepted for tho building at Epsom, and that of the Fletcher Construction Company for £671 for the extensions to tlio Kingsland substation. In both cases tho second lowest tender was held pending inquiry by the board's officials.
