PALMERSTON NORTH SCHOOLS NURSES AND SERVICE BOND. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTH, Friday. Following the request of a deputation to-day, the Minister of Health, Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, approved the establishment of a dental clinic at Palmerston North, to servo the needs of. six town schools and 20 schools within a radius of ten miles. Tho present clinic barely serves the need of tho town schools.
The Minister, w ; hile approving tho scheme, said that owing to the shortage of nurses tho ,new. clinic might not bo working before April next yoar, but in the meantime the school committees could go ahead with the building. , In regard to ■ the shortage of denial nurses,- ■ -Mr. ' Stallworthy added that several of them, , after . being trained,, served notice on the department in view of their approaching marriage, in spite of the fact that they signed a bond to serve for three years. Tlio department was seriously considering tho question of en forcing t thq bond, so that j.n future any young man who wanted to marry a pretty dental nurse would have to smile and pay up. '
