RETURN OF CROUCH.
REASON FOR LEAVING TEXAS.
FEAR OF BANKRUPTCY.
SUVA. Jan. 24. In an interview on board the Niagara, Mr. Arthur Crouch, formerly of Helensville, New Zealand, who was recently extradited to America, and is now returning, said he had no trouble on his arrival at Temple, Texas. The result of the charges against him was as he had expected. The reason he left, Temple, fourteen years ago, was because he feared bankruptcy and as no one in. his high-spirited family had ever gone bankrupt, be decided to go to New Zealand and make good. He had done so, and was glad to be going hack. Ho would resume his business in llelensville as a, land agent. He said ho found his parents alive and well, and also his wife's parents. He was one month in the United States. To avoid bankruptcy'and to pay everyone was his sole motive in going to New Zealand.
Mr. Crouch is very popular on board ship.
