PRESENTATIONS.
Following a meeting of; the Waihi Borough Council this week the Mayor, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt. and members farewelled Dr. T. G. Short, a member of the council, who is leaving shortly on a visit to England. In handing Dr. Short a case of pipes, the Mayor referred to tha able manner in which he had always carried out his duties as a councillor and his many other good works. The members of the Paeroa Defence Rifle Club on Thursday evening entertained Mr. H. Simmonds at a social gathering, prior to his departure from Pai»* roa. Mr. F. C. Hubbard, on behalf of the club, presented Mr.. Simmonds with a handsome set of. crystal ware. Several speakers referred to the . work which Mr. Simmonds had done in the formation and management of the club.
