AERO CLUB PAGEANT.
PREPARATIONS AT BLENHEIM TWENTY MACHINES EXPECTED. [by telegraph.—OWN correspondent.] BLENHEIM, Thursday. Arrangements are well in hand for the Marlborough ' Aero r Club's annual pageant, which is to be held at tho Woodbourne- aerodrome on February 22. It is anticipated that about 20 aeroplanes will compete. These ynll include a squadron of five service machines from tho Wigram aerodrome, i.n charge of Aiy Force officers, who- will be undergoing their annual refresher courses at the time., , Among tho aero clubs which have already signified their intention of sending machines are Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Canterbury, Wellington ,and Otago, whilo a number of privately-owned machinos and neroplaues operated by commercial compauios will also take-part. > Tho programme comprises nine major events, including a bombing competition, a display of crazy flying, an all transport race, a slow race and a race for the New Zealand Aerial Cup; , over a. triangular cout'so or about five miles. In addition there,- will be exhibitions of aerobatics, a "fight" between two fast machines and numerous' other "attractions.
It, is proposed prior to tho pagonnt to hold a conference of atro club representatives from all parts of New Zealand.
CLUB FORMED IN HAMILTON. ELECTION OP OFFICERS. [BY TELEGRAM!.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Thursday. A meeting of those interested in* the format-ion of an aoro club in Hamilton was held this evening, Mr. A. E. Manning presiding. It was decided to have tho society incorporated' under tho name of Tho Hamilton Aoro Club." The following officers were elected:— President, Mr, A. E. Manning; vicepresidents, Messrs. W. H. Paul, D. V. Bryant, J. Steele. M. Scott, H. H. Howdon, Drs. E.'C. Brewis, T. C. Frascr and F D. Pinfold; secretary, Mr. N. Ross; committee, Messrs. T. G. Reynolds, F. Hyde, P. G. Harkness, F. Bntler, E. N. Valintine, Dr. Brewis, and Major G. A, Cowper.
