DELAY AT WEDDING.
MINISTER'S LATE ARRIVAL.
LITTLE TIME FOR CEREMONY.
The late arrival of the officiating clergyman caused temporary consternation among the party gathered for the celebration of a wedding in Auckland last evening.
The ceremony was arranged for 7.30, and both principal parties to the pending pact arrived punctually. However, there was no sign of the minister, who had to travel from Otahuhu to officiate. The minutes dragged, and within the church the groom awaited hi?, bride, who was obliged to wait outside in a taxicab.
As it was necessary for the marriage to be performed before 8 o'clock it was decided to send a hurried summons to a neighbouring clergyman, and the verger was about to invoke the necessary aid when the minister from Otahuhu arrived, ten minutes late. His apology for an unavoidable late arrival tendered, the ceremony was proceeded with and completed within the time available. •
