WEDDINGS.
HANLON —BLANCHFIELD
The wedding took place yesterday afternoon at Holy Trinity Church, Devonport, of Miss Rima Blanchfield, only daughter of Mrs. E. F. Blanchfield. of Calliope Boad, Devonport, to Mr. C. L. Hanlon, of Huapai, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Hanlon, of Whangarei. The Rev. Wingfield officiated. The bride, who entered the church with her brother, Mr. A. R. Blanchfield, wore a frock of white satin beaute, made with a long flared skirt and tight-fitting bodice. The veil of ivory Brussels net was lent by a friend of the bride and has been in use for over a hundred years. The three sprays of orange blossom with which it was fastened'to the head were caught together over the ears in small clusters. 'lhe boiKjuet was of pale pink and white flowers. The only bridesmaid was Miss W. Fcrrall, who wore pale.st apricot georgette with a silver lame hat. blowers in shades of yellow and gold formed the. bouquet. 'lhe best man was Mr. Crariswick. .After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home, when Mrs. Blanchfield received her guests wearing a frock of floral crepe dc chine and a black Bangkok hat.
NICHOLSON*—UHOWN. The marriage of Miss Mavis I'.dna Brown, of Auckland, to Mr. Charles Claude Nicholson, eldest sou of Mr. and Mrs. .T. Nicholson, of Otahuhu, was celebrated at St. Mary's Cathedral, last evening. The Rev. 0. I'>. W. Seton, of Otahuhu, performed the ceremony. lhe bride, who was given away by Mr. K. Dalton wore a frock of ivory georgette with a tight-fitting corsage, the yoke being outlined with narrow lace. ' lhe skirt, which was flared, dipped to the ankles at the back and the waist and hem were also defined with narrow scalloped lace. ller veil of Limerick lace, which rtiso formed a train, was caught to the head with clusters of orange blossom, /ind she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. In nttendnnco as bridesmaid was Miss Mnrjorie Dalton, who wore a frock of shell pink georgette with a flared skirt dipping low at one side and finished at the back with a large pink taffeta bow. Her pink tulle bandeau was ornamented with pearls and rhinestones and she carried a bouquet of pink carnations, roses and sweet peas. The bridegroom was attended bv Mr. 'I lioinas Nicholson as best •man. Mrs. Nicholson, mother of the bridegroom, was hostess at the reception which followed, and wore an ensomblo of pale beige crepe da chine with a deep l.iem of lace, and'a black Bangkok liar. She earned a bouquet of crimson roses. Mrs. R. Dalton was in a. grey costume with stone marten furs and a'.small black hat with ospreys, and she carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers.
