A mysterious epidemic has broken out among 1500 children of the Mennonites, who have taken refuge in Germany after having fled from Russia and are now encamped at Hammerstein, Pomerania. The disease at first was thought to be measles, but it has turned out to be a kind of fever. It leads to death a few hours after the first appearance of the symptoms.
Forty children already have died and the doctors are baffled by the malady. Apparently it does not attack adults.
