FOUNDER OF BOYS' BRIGADE.
Sir William Alexander Smith, founder of the Boys' Brigade, is seventy-five. A Glasgow business man, he. was an ardent Volunteer in his younger days, and an equally ardent Sunday school teacher. He combined both his enthusiasms when he gave each of the boys, of his Sundayschool class a. forage cap, a. belt, a, haversack, and a gun, and started the Ist Glasgow Company of the Boys' Brigade.
