FLYING WITHOUT SEEING: HOW ROYAL AIR FORCE PILOTS ARE TRAINED. A Hawker biplane specially designed for teaching pilots to fly in the dark and in fogs. The back seat is equipped with-a hood which mey be-drawn over the pupil-pilot ;so that he cannot see out, thus compelling him to fly by means of instruments only. The machine is fitted with dual control, so that there is a minimum of risk while training is in progress.
