THE AUCKLAND CROWD.
Sir, —Before returning to the sunay south, . I should like to say' a word in praise of the Auckland crowd. I have heard people • say that there are sufficient riff-raff in Auckland to make possible some disorder,' but, after attending the race meetings, crushing into theatres, and living with the crowd to a great extent, I am bound to say that for a city of the size its public manners are excellent. The stranger finds the helpful spirit. If it is not out of place, may I say that you Aucklanders are a very nice lot of people. Thank You.
