PROPOSAL TO RAISE £20,000

The Bay of Plenty Power Board will take a poll of ratepayers on Thursday on a proposal to raise, a loan of £20,000 for extension of power lines. Many more people have applied for power than was anticipated when the board commenced operations. No rales have yet been collected, as tho revenue is found to be quite sufficient to pay the interest and all other charges. The chairman of the board, Mr. H. R. Hogg, with the engineer and secretary, have visited parts of the board's district in Whakatane County this week and have met with good promise of support for the proposal.
