MENTAL COCKTAILS.
SPICY APHORISMS.
Here are some of the spicy aphorisms with which Sir lan Malcolm, the wellknown writer seeks to stimulate the mental palate:— The use of leisure is an art of immense importance in this work-a-day world. It teaches us what we should do with our own time.
In every human being there is a need for and a corresponding capacity to enjoy somo form of art in its widest possible significance. The thief of time is the mentality which at any sudden period of leisure, spends precious moments in wondering how the spare time is to be employed.
The artist in leisure always has .1 good book in his pocket to dip into in a train or during slack hours in the office; and in his head he knows exactly the name of the book that he is going to lead next .
The fault of the present-generation is that it leads too little and publishes 100 much.
