PROSECUTION AS SEQUEL-

An unusual prosecution was heard. ia the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day, when Leo S. Pry'or was charged with' writing upon a concrete wall in Ohaupo* Road, without authority from the Borough Council, thereby injuring the/wall.Defendant pleaded guilty. \
Inspector % Courtney said that defend* ant admitted having painted various Scriptural quotations on the wall, which buttressed a cutting in Ohaupo Road. Red enamel, paint had been used and ai man was being employed with scrubbing} brush and caustic soda in erasing ths marks.
The magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson* remarked that the paint had not injured the wall, to which the inspector replied! that the scrubbing. did. The magistrate said defendant was noti responsible for that. There was a differ* ence between injuring and disfiguring* He did not see that any offence hftd been! committed under the Municipal Corpora* tions Act, and he would allow defendant) to alter his plea to one of not' guilty. On the inspector's request the case wa* adjourned. . ; ■
