THE REPORT FROM THAMES.
ENTOMOLOGIST'S STATEMENT.

In connection with the message from Thames in reference to an insect there which attacks blackberry, Professor T. H. Eastfield. director of the Cawthron Institute, said all ho could say was that a very large number of blackberry plants suffering from various fungus and insect attacks had been forwarded to the institute from all parts of New Zealand. Up to the present, however, nothing had arrived which was able to deal with the problem as a whole in any distriot. Without having the Thames samples before him he could hot make any comment upon them.
